In late 2002, Our owner Mr. Don Bently directed us to review and develop a comprehensive testing regimen to support a sister Bently family company, Bently Agrowdynamics' biodiesel group. We then set about researching, acquiring, and installing additional instrumentation to our existing lab facilities. For the past two years we have been supporting our own Biodiesel production process development, and during that time we have learned a great deal about what information is really important to the producer/user, and conversely, what information is just for academic value. We have developed a program of tests and packages that is designed for anyone associated with biodiesel, be it the producer, distributor or end user. Each have their own distinct concerns, and the testing packages are designed to address them.
Biodiesel Facts
Biodiesel refers to a clean burning, renewable fuel, produced from domestic, renewable sources such as soybeans, sunflowers, canola, waste cooking oil and grease, or animal fats (lard). A process known as transesterification, a chemical process where glycerin is separated from animal fat or cooking oil, produces biodiesel. It may be blended with any level of petroleum-based diesel to produce a biodiesel blend. Biodiesel is simple to use, non-toxic, biodegradable, and has little or no sulfur and aromatics.
